Beach Haven occupies a prime beachfront position. The surf is a walk across the lawn from the deck and the beach itself is a great example of the area's renown for world-class beaches. Crystal clear water and white sand stretch as far as the eye can see. It is never too crowded and swimming is suitable year-round.
Interior
Beach Haven is a fully-furnished, three bedroom, two bathroom one-storey house. There are two queen sized double beds and a third room with 2 bunk beds and a single and trundle bed. One bathroom is an en-suite with rain shower and toilet while the other larger bathroom has a large rain shower and features a spa bath. The living room features ocean views and includes TV, Hi-Fi & DVD. There is A/C and a glass fronted log fire. A car-port for 2 vehicles is located at the front of the property with Bar-B-Q.
Exterior
Beach Haven faces east towards the ocean and water views are captured by the covered timber deck. The front garden features a variety of native flora and provides a wonderful path to the beach.
Local wildlife and fauna
During the whale migration, north (May, June, July) and south (September, October, November) the whales are seen every day breeching directly in front of Beach Haven. A variety of native fauna live at Beach Haven including a family of magpies, butcher birds, blue faced honey eaters and many rainbow lorikeets. Water dragons and a large blue tongue lizard are regular visitors. The River Street driveway displays new landscaping with a variety of native ferns and other species. Across River Street is the north arm of the Brunswick River where canoes and other boats can be launched to explore the river or go out to sea via the mouth of the Brunswick River. Fishing is excellent from the beach where whiting, flathead, bream, tailor, jewfish and Australian salmon can be caught.Beach Haven is located at New Brighton in northern NSW, 90 minutes south of Brisbane. Locally, New Brighton is about 1 K away from Ocean Shores where there is an 18 hole championship golf course and a shopping centre with a supermarket, butcher, baker, chemist, liquor store etc and is close to the towns of Brunswick Heads (2km), Mullumbimby (5km), Byron Bay (15km) and Bangalow (15km), all accessible within a short drive. Markets where local produce is for sale are held each Tuesday at New Brighton about 100 meters from Beach Haven in the local sports ground.
Getting to NEW BRIGHTON
By air
Gold Coast airport and Byron / Ballina airport are both serviced by regular JetStar and Virgin Australia flights. Beach Haven is a short 25 minute drive from the Gold Coast airport via divided highway and Byron / Ballina is a short 35 minute drive.
By road
Getting to New Brighton from Brisbane is about a 90 minute drive via the Pacific Highway. A drive from Sydney will take about 8-9 hours with breaks.
BYRON BAY
Byron Bay, one of Australia's most popular holiday destinations, is within fifteen minutes drive from Beach Haven. Byron features many stunning natural features including Cape Byron, Australia's most easterly point. The town itself has a unique character with a plethora of boutiques and specialty shops. Scuba diving and Whale Watching cruises are available.
